Version Release Date: August 15, 2024
Status: Final

Release Notes Last Updated: September 04, 2024

1. New Features

  1. Support of Cisco Credits in quote
    1. In this version there is a toggle in custom settings to enable this functionality. To enable this, please contact your StrataVAR Account Manager or raise a ticket at support@stratavar.com. This enables you to decide if you wish to use the current legacy mode (AmortizedMonthly) or see the credits a separate line
    2. If you are using the ability to see the credits as a separate line, you are able to decide how much of the credits to pass to the end-customer. Best Practice: edit the Customer Extend Price (it’s a negative number) of the credit line.
    3. The quantity of the credit line will be the same as the parent item’s quantity, and it will update according to the parent item’s quantity and vice versa.
  2. New TD Synnex API support:
    1. This version supports the ability to import multi-vendor quotes utilizing the Quote ID API instead of Cisco Deal ID.
    2. You can now bring in ALL TD Synnex Sales Orders linked to a specific Purchase Order number. For each of the related Sales Order, you will get one Sales Order in StrataVAR PQW.  To be able to utilize this feature you must have the Sales Order module. If you do not have this module, please contact your StrataVAR Account Manager, or file a request at support@stratavar.com or sales@stratavar.com
    3. You can configure the auto refresh interval of Sales Orders in the “Configure” Tab (accessible to Admin only)
    4. Note: If you use an integration to create dummy Vendor Sales Order records in PQW, please note that for this distributor we have a new Record Type, and you need to update your integration to accommodate for this change if you wish to use Sales Orders from this distributor.
  3. IngramMicro API Support
    1. You can now import all IngramMicro Sales orders using the purchase order ID. Earlier, this could only be done with the sales order ID.  To be able to utilize this feature you must have the Sales Order module for this. If you do not have this module, please connect with your StrataVAR Account Manager, or raise a request at support@stratavar.com or sales@stratavar.com
    2. You can configure the auto refresh interval of Sales Orders in the “Configure” Tab (accessible to Admin only)
    3. Note: If you use an integration to create dummy Vendor Sales Order records in PQW, please note that for this distributor we have a new Record Type, and you need to update your integration to accommodate for this change if you wish to use Sales Orders from this distributor.
  4. Import PDF as BoM – You can now import BoMs from PDF files. As with Excel import the PDF format needs to be identified by PqW for the import to be successful.  Pay attention to the below:
    1. The user needs to manually verify the data that was imported. BoMs that aren’t verified are not allowed to be used as data source for Quotes.
    2. The PDF file you select to import should not exceed 2.5MB
    3. If you have formats that you would like us to add, please raise a ticket at support@stratavar.com
  5. Clone Box – This feature enables you to select multiple items (box level) and clone them as many times you wish, each set of clones will be inserted into a group (with a prefix you can choose). This feature is a great time-saver. For example, in case you have a set of items that represent a site, and you would like to create five more sites with the same items and give them a names like “Site 2” or “Site 3”, you can use cloning to quickly replicate the boxes.
    1. Planned improvement – in PqW 4.0 (ETA in October) we are planning to support that the user will be able to select if he wants the cloned items to go into a group, or be just added at to the quote without any grouping.
  6. Enhanced Item Type Rule Engine (For Admin’s)
    1. Now you can configure and define data-driven Item Type rules that can calculate the item types, and then calculate other admin-defined fields based on parameters of the BoM Item. This can be used to define logic like the following example:
      1. IF [Manufacturer_Name__c = ‘Cisco’] AND [Item_Type_X__c = ‘SERVICE'] AND [Product_Type__c = ‘TRAINING'] AND [Delivery_Method__c <> ““],
THEN set Delivery_Method__c = 'Online’ AND set Tax_Exemption_Status__c = 'Tax Exempt’
      2. In the case of many items, it works in Salesforce recommended Batch Mode, so it may take time depending on availability of system resources.
  7. Error/Success Hooks, Audit Log and Presentation
    1. Ability to add hooks on operation that will trigger custom rules
    2. If you want special logic to be triggered at different steps (like quote refresh, BoM import, etc.) then please reach out to support@stratavar.com, and it can be implemented now.
    3. A special new page “Error Log” is added on relevant records to present any error/success information that was generated as part of the validation. Note that you need to have custom validations or audit customizations to view these functions.

2. Minor Improvements

  1. By default, the “Deal Registration” option will be selected in the Import BoM page, as this is what most customers are using today.
  2. Multiple improvements on how items with quantity 0 (like “Overage” and “Usage” items from Cisco) behave in general. You can now change the quantity to a non-zero number, and the relevant pricing elements will be automatically calculated. This includes calculating VAR cost, Customer Price, and discount information.
  3. Migration of BoM Pages from complete dependence on Page Layouts to new “Lightning Record Pages” from Salesforce. Now you can customize the BoM record detail pages easier. Note that if you customize the pages, you will not receive the updates that we make to the pages. Always clone and then customize.
  4. During import of the expired deal, user will receive a notification during import to confirm the import as credit information may be incorrect when importing an expired deal.

3. Important Bug Fixes

#

Reported Bug

Solution/fix

1

Negative sign is shown sometimes with “0” in edit quote grid when the number is smaller than zero.

Example:

Grid is configured to show only two digits after decimal.

The value is “-0.00001”.

In this case, the system used to show “-0.00” as the value.

Correct Negative Sign will not be shown anymore with 0. Note that sometimes the number may be slightly smaller than 0. In those cases, when we present the rounded information, the sign is now based on the rounded value.

For our example, it will now show “0.00”.

2

Margins are not calculated based on default margin configuration if one of the configurations is 0.

This is a bug introduced in PQW v2.1411556.

The issue was resolved. An intermediate patch was released (v2.1411567).

3

Updated Item Count is displayed incorrectly in BoM Import Page

Correct updated item count is now shown.

4. Known Limitations

  1. When using the MSDR feature please pay attention that: in case there is a term change in the Modified Subscription Deal Registration it may generate some incorrect calculations in the quote (specifically in the previous list price, previous var cost and previous customer price). Customers are requested to double check the quote before quoting customers for such quotes.
